From our first contact with you, we try to get a sense of how we can help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We are always happy to assist you in making reservations, planning what to see and do or where to dine. Since many of our guests begin and end their Nova Scotia stay with us, many love to share their stories and experiences when they return at the end of their travel adventures. We really enjoy the feedback our guests and visitors provide.

The house was built c. 1870 by well known builder at the time, George Canfield. It was lived in for many years by school inspector B.C. Silver and his wife Marietta, who held the first Bedford Horticultural Society meeting here.
Our home is included in Scott Manor House Museum walking tour "Heritage Walk # 1". The Bed & Breakfast house is also part of the series "Doorways to the Past" which is featured at the historic Scott Manor House Museum.
With the business traveler in mind, we provide the convenience of high speed wireless internet access, desk, comfortable bed and breakfast accommodations and a fresh bountiful breakfast. We provide a warm and relaxing atmosphere for families and friends traveling together for weddings, family reunions, class reunions, group activities or whatever special occassion you may be celebrating.
Honeymoon or Romantic Vacation Packages are our specialty. To compliment your evening of romance, you can add a special touch to your stay with a bouquet of fresh flowers, truffles, two wine glasses and a bottle of red or white wine. Awaken to breakfast by candle light in our formal dining room to complete your getaway. This package is $75. We have also happily hosted a number of beautiful weddings here at Heritage Hideaway. We can easily host intimate weddings of 6 people or less.

Our gardens are nurtured using eco - friendly products and we do not use pesticides

We compost wherever possible and support the city of Halifax waste stream separation program for recycling of paper, metal, glass, plastics, E & Hazardous waste etc.

We are strong supporters of local businesses by purchasing local produce and supplies whenever possible.
